By the way, I've seen in the "édito" of the last planete 2CV that you are now officially one fo the team... Even if you've done already a lot in the previous numbers. Congratulation mate! _________________ Nothing else's better than a 2CV custom!!!

As I had a bit of time this WE and I was missing a lot the smell of acetone I fully cleaned the gear box...
See how it was before I start:
Here is what I did...
In the mean time the wheels are gone to be sanded and re-painted...
If you guys have any comments or suggestions, please shoot... _________________ Nothing else's better than a 2CV custom!!!

yeah totally.
the fact that it evaporates quickly, leaves grease residues and spreads the grease out. _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

Hi all, thanks for the coments...
I'm not too high as I was using a mask to get protection from the smell... But if Olli or Jozef or some else know a good product the wash the greace of, I'd love to get some names cause the gear box was the easiest part... The worst is to come with the restauration of the engine that I'll start next month...

Hi
I bought some stuff called "dégraissant moteur" at the local car supply shop.
you put it on with a brush and then powerjet wash it off with warm water.
worked quite well. _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

I don't know if you have Wibra, they sell Dasty, the best degreaser yet. Of course you can also buy degreaser in 5 liter cans at a local carsupply store. Or the poor mans degreaser, buy some diesel and an old brush, even cleans of bitumen (the black stuff used to protect underside of your car) if you let it soak a liitle bit . _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |

I dont know what did you use but,
this kind a protector is worst for acetones and other solvents:
(actually better whitout)
All unhealty stuff comes trough. These are for dust.
This is for solvents, Activated carbon mask:
For grease remover you should go on car parts/accesories market
and ask for it. Its hard to find any english name for such a product.
