Hi Guys,
I'm new round here and at first glance you may guess why I've joined. I'm in the UK and my car is a 1960 Plymouth Belvedere, you can find some info and pictures of her here:
http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=32004
However, I need a car that will get really good fuel mileage. It needs to be cheapish, and I can't stand soulless modern cars, and I like playing with older technology (give me carbs and screwdrivers over fuel injection and a laptop any day of the week!).
I want a roadster, and I'm an old hot rodder at heart, so a sectioned, chopped and channelled 2cv seems to fit the bill nicely! The car that really turned me on can be found in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6w_sy6VnZvM
I figure somthing like that with lake pipes running down the side, a 'straighter' waistline and a couple of bomber seats would be a fun, economical daily driver, and keep me driving in style when I'm working on my Plymouth.
Look forward to spending some time here!
All the best,
Conor |

Very cool idea!
Go to the index here and go to Your Ride and look at 2CV Hot Rod!!

Hi guys and girls my names Matt and I am hoping to get myself a 2cv and slam it. I am currently in the process of building a roof chopped volvo amazon. The 2cv will be a cool little hoodride to distract me from the amazon when things get a little tiresome. All I need to do is find one that dosent cost the earth. cheers for now Matt |

Hi to you all!
I'm Bob, i'm not that big and not that bad but the name stuck after a joke.
heres my 2cv engined machine, comments welcome.
some of you may have seen it before on other fora but it's always evolving.
JoZeF- i saw a pic of your trike on this page http://www.snail.s4.bizhat.com/snail-ftopic514-0-asc-30.html
I'm impressed!! and would like to see more pics. is it 2cv powered? or VW?
I also intend modifying my radius arms as per that topic so thanks to all who posted about it. great information.

Hi I'm Thomas.
I have had A-models for 18 years.
Mostly "stock" 2CVs, but an orange AZU and an orange Méhari as well.
In 2008, I went for a spin in Australia - with "Harley" and 125 other people.
When I got back to Denmark, I sold my Méhari and my Guzzi to rebuild a raid-2CV.
It is a 1972 2CV 6, and it needed a total rebuild.
This project is going slow...
"Snail" was introduced for me in OZ, when Harley ran around the cars and painted with the Snail-template on most of the cars.
This template has been printed, and I just need to get to the "project" to give it a spray. |

Dear All,
I also want to say hello once again - I intruduced myself at the "cool pics" ... sorry & same on my . For the future I will take a look forward. Read before wrote. I was born close to north sea in Ostfriesland / Germany - now im living in Hessen close to Heidelberg. My first 2cv was a dolly red / white this is more than 15 years ago, I sold it for 25,- €..shit , yes I know.
In the meantime I drove a 2cv special in white, a white one club and mandarine coloured from 1979 with 29 HP (a VW Polo, a Fiat Panda, Nissan Mirca) this time I drive a BMW 318 touring from 1989 but I am working still on the 2cv pickup project .... so when you once fixed on, you never can let finger from 2cv It nice to see so many friends of 2cv .... enough for the moment. All the best to you and have a good start into the weekend. _________________ 2CV Ever Asphalt Proved |

Hi everybody, my name is Francois. originally from France, i now live in Atlanta, Ga. I always wanted a 2cv and now that I finally have the finances and extra garage space, I got a 1959 2cv, I d say 98% restored.
Problem is, it wont start. it did when they drove it on the trailer but after 8 hours of being in the rain during shipping, it now wont start. I ll search the forum and hopefully will find answers there but please feel free to chime in with ideas.
I m looking forward to getting to know all of you and the car better.
best regards. _________________ 1959 2cv |
