Done some more today as the sun was shining Very Happy
This is the rear showing the new position for the spare wheel.

This is the roof rack with just the wooden spars to be fitted.

Also fitted a set of front seat belts in the rear for extra safety of the kids.

The upright is heavy guage steel tube with a box section containing a captive welded nut to hold the belt pivot.

A better look at the rear from the side angle.

Got a dog guard to fit next and then start on the rear door.
Nearly there John and Julia Very Happy .

in uk there are many fake charleston and dolly 2cv

but the result Tony is going to achieve I think is going to be much nicer than a Charleston 2cv

Also the rear side panels will remain steel as the spare wheel will stand upright inside one of them. The owners like how it looks without the glass fitted.
The tailgate will however still have a window fitted in it Very Happy .

Hey Jerre,
Not my choice to use a Charleston mate as the owners have four 2cv's and this was the best condition one they had Wink
We were going to use another 2cv but as it turned out the chassis was in poor condition and would have taken too long to repair.

This project has got to be done and finished in time for the CZECH REPUBLIC show and ive got to strip my own car as yet(the red baron) and re paint it, change the engine and gearbox and fit a towbar Shocked

So much to do and so little time to do it in Wink .

Hehe

Whatever the deadline is, it's always better to take the cleanest base possible... it's much less work... 'cause if you've got to restore it before even starting on the modifications... it gets boring pretty quick

Got loads done over the bank holiday weekend Cool
Made this new panel as the original was rotten/rusted.

Then welded the bonnet hinge back on.

Another view along its length.

Made up the mountings for the dog Guard.

Just the rear door to do next, then finishing off before paint, Cool
