Lets just agree it's a cool car and leave it at that. The "Rosalie" is cool as well.
I really like this as well.
And these:

Oh, I like it a lot. I think the shape matches perfectly the fashion of the time. It could have been drawn by Figoni & Falaschi, Pourtout or any other french carrosier of the 30s. Furthermore I think the style matches the clean lines of the trax. It would have bene nicer to fit those wings to a roadster or coupe body, of course. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

If I'm correct simular styling is seen on pre war Panhards and Delehaye cars. |

Sure, the body is absolutely brilliant! I just think it got raped because of that horrible color and rims without hubcaps. Not to mention the beautiful icccr sticker on the rear window and those fabulous modern french license plates. The beautiful shape of the rear gets killed by the exhaust that sticks out 20cms, should be shortened to be invisible. The list is long enough ... |

Hubcaps, stickers, license plates? All that is easily fixed in an hour. For the exhaust, there is a grinder but I do think it looks OK, especially as that is the way they looked then. The color is actually also pretty period correct. I think there is more good than bad on this car.
But then, everyone has his taste. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

Found this on a french forum. I like the shape of the coupe roof. Colour is all wrong, of course, I would chop the running boards and scrap the fenders.

To be honest, for me coupe shape looks like "wanna-be-ford-I-made-it-by-my-self".
Its ugly. There was top Designers making those lines in factory, its rare to get as
good result for it in home garage.

I think for a hotrod, the four door shape of the standard Traction is not really suited. If I were ever to attempt a Trax Hotrod, I'd make a coupe or roadster version, too. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

Sure but it would be better to take inspiration from the real Traction coupé!
The fenders are really bad on this 5w coupé Traction... They ruin the car! _________________ www.super2cv.com |

True, the fenders are bad. Ideally, the original faux cabriolet would be the best base. But it is really rare. Even I would have doubts about chopping that up. The shapes of the original are also really difficult to make without the jigs/moulds, whereas the coupe shape of the yellow one can be adapted from a Berline without too much trouble.
Sometimes you have to let go of ideals and go for what is possible with limited tools and metalshaping capabilities. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

Mmhh...I don't think so actually! This would justify to make crap work...
"- Hey your car looks like crap, everything is wrong!
- Yeah, I know, but I'm blind, just one hand, and I use filler instead of a welding machine cause I can't buy one.
- Oh ok, in that case, wow it looks so nice! I wish I have the same car!!
- I know!! "
My opinion is if you can't make (or buy) what you really want, keep it original. The "almost" stuff look bad in general...
But I already told that! _________________ www.super2cv.com |
