Well, you won't hear me saying anything bad about full metal cars! In the movie it just looks like it's ready for painting and start driving (in a bad french way ) What about the engine, Rover V8? |

It's far from finished, and I guess the engine bay will be cleaned up.
can't remember what the engine is... but I guess Rover V8 is a possibility... although something tells me it's a US engine...

I think it is a US engine, because all Rover V8s I have seen had double SU carbs, this thing has a holley or look a like carb.
Cheers, Bart
p.s. not bad a traction with a V8 suits the car, I always though about putting a DS23 engine and DS 5speed box in and tune that with big carbs and some other rubbish but a V8 oh yes have to get used to that idea. |

I thik that engine in Google video is Rovers. You can get different
intake maniford for it. In rover (or related buick) engine valve
covers are in that straight position.

Yep, basically the rover V8 is the buick engine from 1961, but because of thechnical problems they stopped using it and later Rover used it because it is a very light engine compared to the iron V8. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |

I don't think a Traction has the right body for scallops. |

Hmm dunno about that DS. I don't really like the whole "fit a classic with oversize shiny billet aluminium wheels and low profile tyres" movement.
I also haven't seen a good looking Traction hotrod yet. There have been some attempts. I remember a yellow Belgian or french roadster (conversion from berline) some 20 years ago. It was fenderless and 80s style. I'll see if I can dig up a picture.
There's one V8 traction on youtube somewhere.
The big question is: do you keep front wheel drive and struggle with the styling (especially fenderless) or do you go all out with a big engine and rear wheel drive?
My opinion is that if you go fenderless, you have to chop it to a coupe or roadster. That big body without fenders looks silly.
BTW, this is a Traction lookalike from 1935. It's a Unic U4B, also french.

Here is small picture of an add for the article about the yellow one, unfortunately the magazine was sold already. I actually like it, very interesting car for it's period.

That's the one I mean. I like what they did with the body only it looks too smooth and the grille and wheels are wrong. But it's late 80s fashion, I guess.
It was featured in Chroom & Vlammen, a magazine you must know, Sam. They also had a yellow Citroen hotrod, I believe it was a B-series from the 20s? _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.
