ok question, I almost finished the steering holder, but don't know what would look better
1. open tubes frame
2. closed with a lid
3. closed with a lid drilled with holes
the pics (not sharp, but he who cares.

small update
The front view of the cover
Top view of the cover
made a conus with some tube, old bolt, a part from pouly tool and teflon hammer.
welded the cones on the tube and grinded it.
Unfortunatelly the rubber from the steering mount is little bit more to the front, so I had to bend the cover a bit. Shame.
View from it, now you can see why I don't put back the battery box and you can see that big cover looks bad also.
Unfortunatelly the steering can move a little bit up and down, so I will have to make a support to the window frame. Sideways no movent, so thats good.
I put it on you tube (first time for me) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALP2793Uxpo
PS making cones is my first time so don't be offende because of poor quality. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |

How about extending the steering column shroud down to the toeboard, to brace it vertically? _________________

We thought about that, but the support is nihil since the place where it passes the floarboard is single sheet. The front window frame is desinged for this purpose since the origingal dash is also welded to it. Plus that when putting a downtube from the window to the support it wil be much stiffer then adding a tube in a non straight line.
I plan to make some cardboard cutouts to see the effect of this modification. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |

This weekend I was looking for the rod to change front-feet heating. I found old knob from I think steering damper for Norton 350. Lying in an old box. So drilled a hole in it and some thread and this is the result. Headlight problem fixed.
Best part is that it´s from bras and the older it gets the better it looks. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged

first rear fender finally fixed with enough space to handle 155 tyre.
next step is to smoothen the new steering support / dash. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |
