tiny update, I shortened the handbrake 6cm, but due to my perfect welding NOT, I had 2 choices, cut it up again and do it over or make a new handle that will fit the handbrake bar.

so after days of handy work and wood is not my strong point, the result.

If you remove the dash it wil fit, it´s 6 cm shorter so it wil dissapear under dash.

@Olli, yep crossed my mind, but floor brake with 2cv is not a beauty, or in mercedes style left side next to a panel, but you´d have to modify to cable system or something like that. So decided for the original location.

Who needs a dash, anyway?

Dunno about regulations where you are...

But no (visible) handbrake could be cool...

You just need to fit a Line Lock in the brake system and you have a hydraulic handbrake

You can do a line lock as "parking" brake, no problem as fare as I'm aware for a dutch MoT. But you also have to have an emergency brake, which should not be a part of the normal brake system, so effectively you have to have a hand brake...

Cheers, Bart

nOPE, Handbrake needs to be mechanical, no hydraulics allowed.

A recent variation is the electric parking brake. First installed in the 2002 BMW 7 Series, electric brakes have since appeared in a number of vehicles, including the Audi A6 and A8, Lincoln LS, Jaguar S-Type and XJ, Renault Scénic and Espace and the 2006 Volkswagen Passat.

Two variations are available: In the more-primitive 'cable-pulling' type, an electric motor simply pulls the emergency brake cable rather than a mechanical handle in the cabin. A more advanced unit uses a computer-controlled motor attached to the brake caliper to activate it.

It is expected that these systems will incorporate other features in the future. BMW and Renault already have a system where the emergency brake initiates when the car stops and then goes off as soon as the gas pedal is pressed preventing the car from drifting. The vehicle operator can easily turn off the system.

(Wikipedia)

So Bart is right, no hydraulics. Basically the second system is inverted system, when power is of the brake is on, when engine starts to brake is released. Same system with trailers, when air is disconnected the trailer brake is engaged, so in case of failure of pressure the brakes come in, prefenting the trailer from moving.

Something totally different, I was brainstorming on how to attache the firewall upholstery. Today I took of the clothing of my living room speakers and the light went on. Velcro. That way I don´t have to drill holes, or other mechanical changes to the firewall. I will stitch the velcro on the insulation and on the firewall I will glue the counterpart of the velcro.

PS I am talking about this part:

the insulation I use is Felt (vilt in dutch)
