You gotta start somewhere...
The aim of the game is to do something as low as this, but better made than these dudes :

So you start off by finding an AMI 6
Preferably a very early one, just to piss the bad breath bearded purists off
If it's in niceish condition it's even better...
When I got it, the car was totally dismantled by the previous dude who tried to restore the car...
these are his photos of when it was more or less in one piece
When I got there (800 km there and 800 km back) it looked like this :
But the asking price was just right (free) so you can't complain too much...

I didn't take the chassis 'cause I already had one from a Dyane in good condition, and I'm trying to make space in my workshops, so...
A good scrubbing, some welding
and a bit of paint, and it was ready to go.
I changed the rear arms for AMI arms and the front arms have been modified for low riding and also narrowed 7 cm.

Hi
I didn't take any in detail.
But they are on the last photo... not exactly very visible from that angle, but you can see it better with the body and fenders on... _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

Hi
Is that 7cm per side or overall reduction in track? |

hey JoZef...
What is your project with this one? Except having it very low? Are you gonna go something as extrem as the Azu with the alfa engine?
Can wait to see the result... Keep on doing the good work

it's 7cm overall. I want to keep 15 inch so I don't think more would be reasonable. Anything is possible but I'm keeping things simple. Low ride height, nice custom interior and 602.
That's enough to get you from A to B with minimal style...

Nice project!
You gona do some channeling as well than? and are you putting uprated springs on the chassis to cope with the heavier body and the ride heigth?
Keep up the good work!, Bart _________________ I like to play |

Yes uprated springs are on the menu, if Ecas are willing to supply, that is... Ordered last november, still no sign... And each time I phone I get the "next week song"...
They're probably so pissed off at the idea of us getting such a good deal thanks to the cheap £ that they're waiting for the exchange rate to go up again before delivering stuff to france again... _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

Yeah, I'm only joking.
But it's realy boring 'cause chassis would be totally done if it wasn't for theses springs...
Of course I could probably contact a spring maker near me, but ECAS supplies them at the right size and stiffness, so it just makes life easier...
well, it's supposed to...
