Er, not really...
I started a couple of months ago... this is just a late posting of all the stuff I've done so far.
there is a total of 3 x 7 days of work at the moment... this is my 4th week of work.

A bit of boring, but much needed, restoration job done today.
After finishing seat fixings and other little details, it was time to get done with the front end of the body, to concentrate on finishing the rear...
what it was like when I got the car :
I didn't want to remove windscreen and replace whole thing because I figured I'd break the glass, then make a mess of the welding and have to scrap the body... So I cut the cancer out...
I did it in several pieces, because I figured I'd have more control over small sections than one big one...
Not quite finished, but I have no light in my workplace, so I'll do the rest tomorrow...

If you break your windshield, I have several at home... But it's quite far from your actually ! _________________ www.super2cv.com |

Thanks
I've nearly finished.
Was ok, just a matter of getting edges nice and jointed. and a bit of patience.
So some grinding, and a little filler, and them some FAKE patina, and it should be ok... _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

Looking great! Its funny how curved bottom of body actually is. Even if you
get center in ground rear is still so much up. Ofcourse its not so much visible
when you are next to the car.

True
at the end of the day, it will be a very very low AMI 6. but it's funny to see how many details a channeling job really makes visible on a body you know. _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

Yep, it's MIG weld... but with shitty Flux core wire... so, if you're patient enough, it doesn't warp or burn holes.... but you gotta be really patient... I've done an OKish job, but it will require a bit of hammering and some filler...
should be alright in the end. _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

did you weld it like spot here, spot there and than gradually fill the line, instead of pulling a line at once? |

Yeah, that's the way I did it. A spot in the middle, then one on each end. and then you go on doing spots everywhere, each time far apart...
If you attempt to do a line of welding on such thin metal... it will either burn holes or go wild shaped... _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.
