What is the English TV's problem about the 2 CV?? |
What a bunch of wankers. It's cheap laughs (for non 2cv lovers) & cheap TV.
Our main problem over here is called Jeremy Clarkson. He works on the TV show Top Gear. Over the years he's declared his hatred for the 2cv & has had his hand in the destruction of many through the TV show.
What he seems to forget is, that when he first started out on the show in 89/90 he did a feature on 24hr 2cv racing & was invited along to Mondello park, to film a piece for the programme. Sadly the clip isn't on youtube, but i can tell you that he certainly seemed to enjoy himself - he even took to the wheel of a race car for a few laps. Ever since though he's done nothing but ridicule the 2cv & because he's a quite well known & outspoken celebrity here, other presenters & journalists tend to follow & copy. _________________ www.international2cvfriends.com

Take a mercedes A-type, or a Hummer for that matter en do the same thing as with the 2cv, it would be upsite down even quicker. If I had the money I would love to show it and crash a Hummer. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |

These Lada's are copies of Fiat cars. They should have decent roadholding. Only problem is the russians made everything from body to suspension parts heavier to cope with bad russian roads. Oh and russian tires and dampers don't help.
The Trabant was never made to go faster than 60km/h. It has a tranverse leaf spring for front suspension. Leaf springs are for trucks and horse carriages. Only americans use them in road cars today.
There is one marque that did not do too bad in rallying internationally: Skoda.

Umm...
there's a 96 BHP Trabant that races regularly in the French "Maxi 1000" competition (saloon cars with less than 1000cc engines).
It's got original engine and drivetrain (the rules force that) and it doesn't hang about...
a Rally tuned Trabant ran the Monte carlo in 92... it was among the cars on the finish line...

Must be one hell of a driver then. I drove a Trabant once. Never again. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.
