This makes me feel very old!
my first 2cv world meeting. I remember seeing these cars and thinking i must have a cool 2cv. The yellow van and Blue saloon were (from what i can remember) nicely built. These two cars have probably been responsible for the cars i have built over the last 20 odd years.
To me they still look fresh and new, you could bring them out in 2008 and they would still look cool.
God, i wish i was 17 again....

I saw the yellow van in Austria, my first world meeting. Liked it a lot. Was it ever rebuilt, since 1985 or has it only been outside in sunny weather?

Hello,
Since 1985, Philippe rebuild it quite a few time, for starter, this car have been repainted at least three times to my knowledge.
This is certainly my alltime favorite, put the fire to the black powder to a lot of us.
In 1985 it was riding on a "simple" AMI super chassis with 1300 GS engine,
Later on, the gearbox was changed for a C-Matic 3 speed box.
PP put the hands on a M35 proto, less engine, and he adapted the hydro-pneumatic suspensions to the AMI Super chassis. The simplest way to go,you see the engine bay of the M35 was thought for a rotary engine! And don't ask for the body, it has already beeen put on a AMI super chassis by an old menber of PP's club.
The latest modification was on the engine, it is now converted to MEP roller cams, and a couple of Weber DCNF carburators to fed the flat four, and the gearbox is back to 4speeds.
That is the way you saw it in Austria.

Lionel Huart.

Only minor point of discontent: the round holes in the front of the bonnet.

With all that tinkering on the 1300 flat four, what is a reliable streetable maximum output you can get from this engine? Does anybody know?

My car was on the dynojet last year with my (now dead) AM2A engine. Standard engine except for electronic ignition and slightly bigger main jet for the second barrel. It produced a whopping 27.56hp!

Two men trying to make this old Argentinian 2cv running again. Putting some fuel in the carb, trying and trying and hup! The gorgeous sound of the 18hp makes me smile and the guy in the 2cv too ... Razz
