here some pics of my car
it is about 4 cm above the road .
the shockabsorbers are from a ami-super, lengthened and with thicker oil.
the engine is a bit modified i changed the exhaust and it has fuel injection but that has still some work in progress. it does run but it need some fine tuning _________________

It's half of that we "need" in Finland by technical regulations... And once when I had only 7cm in my Dyane, they said it's not enough...

How you changed oil in shocks? And what kind of oil you used..? One of my friend just asked this...
I have very good quality shockabsorber oils, from 10W to 80W, in 10W steps. But they are quite expensive, "only" 55€/L. Packed in 0,1L bottles... For radio controlled racing cars... _________________ Make it today, tomorrow it's probably illegal... |

Looks rather good! I especially like the old details, suicide doors and the tidy little miror.
Jasu, I don't know what Stefan did but you can fill ordinairy 2cv shocks with gearbox oil to make them stiffer. It is explained here: http://snail.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=85
And Stefan, doesn't your chassis touch the street when you brake on a narrow road where the middle of the road is higher as the track? Or don't you brake at all???
Ciao, Bart |

Thanks Bart. And Pete also.
Next thing (how many "next thing" I have already. Too many, I think...) when I go to garage is put better shocks on and "practise" with old ones what have been on the road only 556000 kilometres... Maybe it's time to change their oils..? _________________ Make it today, tomorrow it's probably illegal... |

thanks for the compliment
i know 4 cm is a bit low.and there are probelbly more drawbacks then benefits
but hey it looks so cool
and with these modified shock absorbers it doesn't hit the street when i brake.
whaha is there really a rule in finland that your car has to be 8 cm above the road ? that is ridiculous ,the person who make that rule must be shot or something. _________________

Hey Stefan
I'm not against drawbacks, I was just wondering if that height was technically driveable. i don't mind driving 20km/h in town... and the car won't be on the road 30 000 km a year...
So Going by what you say it should be fine

it is very driveable ,you just have to drive slow on bumpy roads
but only with modified shocks, with standard one's it is not possible _________________

Hey, I like this one too!
Simple'n'clean! Here we see that it does not ask much to make way cool ride!
I does not always need mercedes grille and delta lines..
Now it just needs channeling to keep it on that height but have more space under car!
Who will make first tech-topic of channeling? I would, but no time right now.
