Maybe i'm missing the point. But why are you using a modern Ducati engine in an as near as possible replica of a barbot? Or are you just going for the looks of the car, and not the technical aspects? Or did I just miss something...
Besides that, keep up the good work! |

@ Rossero,
This engine will be used in my day to day car: A 'burned' 87 2cv6 which is close to completion after a fire destroyed almost the entire car.
Standard white, all(most) original, low and.............
The Barbot is another plaything. |

How much of the car was burnt ?
I doubt it will be very strong anymore, on the burnt surfaces... ask Kustombart about it _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

@ Kironk
The compressor: Aisin AMR300 used on Subaru Vivio's
Image of the Ducati engine will follow later.
And the car where it all goes in......
@ JoZeF
As you can see everything under the bonnet was touched by the fire. Not that much of a problem but after 3 years in a moisted garage you can imagine how all the burned metal was like. The interior was also as black as hell, front seats were gone, all the plastics, roof and doorpanels too.......
I've ripped apart the entire car, removed the gearbox & engine, cut out the bulkhead, removed the footwell, the surroundings of the front window, the bonnet hinge and the left and right triangles.
After stripping and cleaning the entire front of the body to bare metal I made new triangles from sheet metal, repaired the surroundings of the front window (the inside is made new from sheet metal), welded a new footwell, new bulkhead, bonnet hinge and repaired a minor hole in the chassis. Off course I also purchased a bonnet, front fenders and overhauled the engine.
After that I sanded down the entire body, doors, fenders and misc. parts, sprayed them with etching primer, sanded everything again and resprayed the body with a thin coat of white fillprimer.
The car is now almost ready to be painted.......
