but what about these
with thanks to the site mentioned above. |
Any idea of the size?
That would be perfect!! Just instead of the springs! _________________ www.super2cv.com |

Oh I found that:
Abmessung: Durchmesser Außen 15cm - Innen 5,5cm, Höhe 12cm - aufgeblasen 20cm
Size : outside diameter 15,5cm, inside 5,5cm, height 12cm to 20cm
Anybody know the diameter of the spring box? _________________ www.super2cv.com |

As I said in my previous post, I have another idea to discuss about air suspension mounting but Ill tell you before why I dont think the hollow air spring mentioned will work.
Think that in a mcpherson arrangement, the spring bears only aprox 1/4 of the total car weight (ok more in the engine part) but this means for a tone car 250kg, and thus the small diameter and low pressure needed to rise de car.
In the 2cv arrangement, there is a lever ratio for each suspension arm, I think this relation is near 1:5, so the spring bears 5 times the weight that an arm bears, so this for a 2cv is 750kgr/4 x 5 = 937,5kg that is near 4 times the force that this mcpherson airspring is designed for, so you must rise 4 times the nominal pressure for the air spring and that exceeds the safety limit for a pressure device.
Said that, my idea is to mount a more standard air spring, using a fork arrangement to install it in the same place as the original springs.
There is in blue the original suspension pot stand, and in red the airspring, in darkgreen the fork arrangement.
Sorry for the hitech CAD drawing tool |
