would it work with only one bag?
the bag must be centered than,
otherwise for example the back of the car when it's heavily loaded would go down earlyer because it's easier for the bag to push it.
so two bags are necessary which are both fixed in the middle?!
or did i do an error in reasoning? _________________ in rust we trust... |

I think bart was talking about one bag on each side of the car.
But you're right, the back spring being softer, the car would probably not level out when "airbagged"
But there is not enough room between the springs to fit 2 bags (and maybe even one, depending on size of these things )
Best bet would probably be custom made shorter springs with equal length and spring rate allowing use of one bag per side of the car.
Of course, this would probably make everyday use of the car slightly difficult, dunno how it would react with "equal" springs...
But for cruising at the weekends I guess it would be fine. _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

your reasoning is right I think it depends to the use of the car
if it's a daily it perhaps need 2 bag for 1 side but if it's just for cruising perhaps 1 bag is necessary
to make test you don't need have compressor and electric valves and co you just have to link the bag at a classique valve for tire and put air a the pressure you nedeed with normal compressor
the pressure in the bag give you the height of the car
think that when your bag "crack" if it arrive you 'll have to drive in low position ..... as any airide system

I will try to remember to take a picture of these things today. But just imagine round rubber balls, exactly the size of the inner diameter of the spring box. They fit snugly into the spring box and can be compressed (when not inflated) to about 5 cms. When inflated (depending on the pressure added) they will expand to their round shape of about 15cms (I haven't measured exactly).
I wouldn't worry about the stress on the springs, though. About the difference between front and rear: I don't know, we just have to try, I guess. There is a Ami super chassis standing around at my friends place without a body. I think we will have a go at that soon. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

Well I said we would soon experiment but we really need a backup set of Ami Super (Same as regular Ami?) spring pots. (in case we *&^% up the installation)
Then we have to wait until Tjeerd finishes his chopper and then I have to kick him again to start his Azuper-project...
Anyway, here's a piccie of the box full of goodies I bought. They are all second hand and the company probably doesn't exist anymore. So if you want one, contact me. There are about 12 more balls of various sizes.
In the picture, you can also see a regulator box with buttons, air pressure gauge and valves already in it. You can also see tubing supplied for the 3 bars pressure lines.

Hi
Can't see your pic. ?
AMI Super springs are specific. your closest bet to Super springs I believe are Acadiane springs, I think. _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.
