How ?
Engine rebuilt
brakes rebuilt and all new
suspension new
exhaust line new
wheels and tyres new
all lights work.
No structural rust
Nothing stopping me getting an MOT for that car _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

I gotta say that this is the way I would say a hoodride (or rat rod or whatever you wanna call it) should be built.
Simple style, well built chassis and drivetrain and also well finished both under the car and inside the car. Also love the real patina. :)
Just pulling something out of a swamp and lowering it is not what makes a car cool in my mind, but that's just me.
Keep it up but keep it low! |

Hey guys
thanks for the comments.
Just over 500km driven so far.
It's quite cool on the road. Does seem a bit bumpy, though... shocks, maybe ?
The Reed Valve Engine breather so far is working fine. I remember someone asking about that.
And I think Bart asked me about the mix of old master cylinder with "new brake cylinders" that also is OK. Brakes work fine, need a bit more precise adjustment but other than that it's not a problem.

No problem
All things come in time, that's the general rule of things
I might just be getting back to work on the Alfa soon, who knows... _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

First hairy Police control today
They were checking alcohol...
One of them comes up to my car :
"Can I see the papers ?
- yep, here you go.
-There's no way this car can have MOT
-Why not ? It's all renewed, engine brakes suspension interior, I've not touched the body because it's cool like this
-Oh but you have touched the body, look how low this car is !!! how much suspension travel do you have ? you can't tell me this has MOT.
-Well, I can go over speed bumps with no problems
-What ? how high ? you must surely leave the exhaust line on the road if you go over a big one. What you've done on this car is called "dropping"... I'm sure the insurance wouldn't be behind you in case of an accident...
-Oh, that's not cool I didn't know. () well, I can rise it up and show it to you afterwards ?
-No, no, don't bother, your car is got MOT on the title, so we can't say anything, but I'm sure there is something wrong with it...
-Hmm, do you want to test for alcohol ?
-Well, have you been drinking ?
-No.
-Oh, well, just go.
-Ok, bye !
