I found very nice vid from Citroen.com what was about Raid Paris-Kaboul.
In that raid there was this amazing 2d HT Dagonet. Before I have seen only
one picture of that car. In this vid you can see it driving. Very cool!

Ultra cool! But... how do they enter the car? There seems to be no B-pillar only one gigantic side window... Bizarro. _________________ >>Mikael |

Woh, great men ! It's christmas !
About Schwab. We don't know much about this car. It is clearly inspired by Dagonet's works. Schwab seems to have been one of the six pilots engaged with a 2cv Dagonet at the 1955 Mile Miglias. I'm not sure, but I think he's the one who arrived first of all Dagonets and won its class. I have to look in my folders and I'll giive you more info about him and his car.
The white Dagonet whit the Umap is one of the latest built Dagonets, in 1956, owned by Francis Rigeade, an old man now who leaves close to La Rochelle. M rigeade misses is Dagonet. He sold it in 1957 and bought an UMAP but was very disapointed. Since few years, he tried to build a replica of his Dagonet, but he's quiet old now and it's a long long way for him.
About the Paris-Kaboul Dagonet, I knew two pics of this car. The one you can see in Fabien Sabates's book (La 2cv 40 ans d'Amour, 2cv, 40 years of love) colour shot in the desert and the second one is a scan of a B&W pic published in a french autosprort magazine (Echappement) few days before the start of the raid on Le Mans track. I wondered there were other pics existing of this car, especially in Citroën folders. At this time, the communication service was managed by a great lover of 2cv (Jacques Wolgensinger). Note this 2cv has many modification, even for a Dagonet : 2 doors, no B pilar, ...). The french registration is from the early '70, so it's not a clue.
Please please Olli, give me the link of the vid !!!!!
At least Sam, may be could you post the pic you sent me, from Citroexpert. I tried to know more about this car and a friend of mine you surrely know (Jean-Michel Matras) suggested an history of this car...
Thanks for this pics men !
Chears.

Yes, I know Jean-Michel from Les filles de Levallois. I'll send an e-mail to CitroExpert to get in contact with the owner of the photos. Maybe I could get some high quality photos which is far more interesting than a poor magazine scan.

Did they also build LHD cars in Slough??? I don't think so. And the rear window looked different on originals in my opinion. |
