window trim ?

I'm missing the difference here?

and dash? I'm sure my dash existed with the later suicide door ripple bonnet models ? am I wrong?

either way, it's never ever been a restoration, it's a car built by ME for ME, and if it makes ME happy, then it's been worth every minute, and every penny!!!

i'm no expert in the differances per modelyear but...

i just don't get why you did'nt put the body of the 1950's car you have, on a 2CV6 chassis? and then snail it...
you said it was salvagable.

then you could have kept the 1966 car original.

but in the end, you're right!
it's your car so do whatever you like!

(in general, i don't like the look of the ripple bonnet at all)

that's what i am doing, i was planning the same thing with an AZ '65 (ripple bonnet etc), but they convinced on this forum not to do this en keep it original. now i'm converting a '82 to look like a early model. (shut rear windows and turnsignal holes, old style roof, rear panel, suicide doors and channel it ofc)

Before early 1963, the front doors had a painted (and not chromed) window trim. And for the rear doors, before roughly the same date, there was a metal trim and not rubber.
The "new" dash with electric wiper engine appears in september 1962. Before that, there was still the old speedo and no plastic dash.

As I said earlier, between a late 1950s model and your, there are as many differences than with a 1980s one...

I was aware of the wiper change, and dash, and I have painted front window trims, but have never noticed the rears aren't rubber on the older model Shocked

I'm setting off to Bordeuax in it on Friday Cool

but it's been running on just the collector box and an exit pipe behind the front wheel, and it's been okay, but a passenger complained that if the window was open then it was too loud for them and as my daughter is coming with me, I thought I'd better quickly knock up an exhaust for her comfort

it's a scrap pipe from work (believed to be saxo)

now here's the surprise, the longer pipe has made it smoother (no surprise there) but it now has a right wicked bark Shocked the resonance must be just so! it pops farts and crackles like a mini on a three branch manifold!!!

it sounds lovely, but it's deafening Shocked

I'm going to have to put a silencer in Sad there's no way I can drive through a gendarme checkpoint with it like this Laughing

1600km without any trouble Cool

it pulls lovely down on level ground, here I'm flat out everywhere, and using third, there I was in top much quicker and only using the first choke to cruise between 80 and 90kmh

cruising the beachfront in Medoc was pretty darn cool Cool

we were given special treatment on the ferry, all the cars crammed in bumper to bumper, except us, we were given about a foot front and back Laughing
