Hey all, Im Joe and im in the UK, ive been a member for a while but have never posted just scrolled through the forum regularly, i own a 1989 white and green dolly, which is in need of much restoration work as the original owners had it stored at a unit, when i say stored i mean left outside to rot shes in a bit of a state and needs the usuals, floors, bulkhead, sills, chassis, inner rear arches, points but will get electronic soon, and too many more things to list
although alot of the customised 2cvs look amazing, i dont really want to do much to her as ive never wanted a 2cv for customising, possibly lower her and add some burton rims or minilites, but the main priority is to get all the bodywork and parts in need of replacing done so that shes roadworthy, shes my first car and ive wanted a 2cv since i was a lil kid, im 17 in just over 2 weeks so i might have to get something else for the time being as i dont think she will be ready in time for me to use her straight away
thanks Joe _________________ Joe Wilson

I'm new too, just registered a few weeks ago and reading along with some projects I am a friend of Björn, well known member here too. He got me hooked to this forum
26 years ago, just before i was born, my parents bought a light blue 2cv6 and my mother drove it for 16 years. I was to inherit the car on my 18th birthday, but unfortunately the car was in no shape to be repaired. In the meanwhile, both my brother and sister got themselves very nice Deuches, while i was left with my trusty Xantia 1.9 Turbo D. It gets me everywhere but of course, it isn't by far a 2cv...
We've been looking all over the place for a nice duck to fulfill my lifetime dream. Today, we went to Citromobile 2008, and after a long day of scouting and checking out cars for sale, i found my dream Deuche! It's a 1983 2cv6 Special S6.

As you can see, it has some features that need some serious attention. The headlights are ugly square, the interior needs some work and it sits wayyy to high. The rest is in perfect condition so i am a very lucky guy |

Whats wrong with square headlights? they make the clubs stand out :) ive always liked the look of squares, they wouldnt look right on my dolly though.... _________________ Joe Wilson

Maybe it's just because i've been used to the round ones, but the square ones just don't look right on the body as a whole. Of course, it's all personal taste in the end |

Yeah i completely agree with the personal taste, see i own a green and white dolly, but ive always disliked the colour green! ive always wanted a red and white dolly, or a red special/club with a black roof! but we cant always have what we want, and ive started warming to my green dolly _________________ Joe Wilson

Man, this is great. I had given up all hope of finding a kustom 2cv forum, and
while late-night surfing I come across Snail. I'm from Argentina and own a 65 AZ, the 14 hp version. It was my daily driver until last year, when I thought my son and daughter shouldn't be so exposed to the elements when driving around, and a bought a newer car, with a proper roof and winding windows, burguoise stuff, honestly. The thing is I'm definitely gonna mess around with the 2 cv. I'm thinking slammed supension, no fenders, stripped interior (there's not much to strip, though), and some sort of army color scheme (olive drab green body/tan wheels). I'll then ask some questions in the tech section. This is great, guys. 2 cv's are so cool. Greetings from the other America.
P.S: My kids hate not driving around in the citroen anymore... |
