Hi everybody,
I'm new here. I've been looking for ages for a site dedicated to custom 2CVs. Some of your cars (well most of them really) have elements of the look I'm after; rat paint, lowered and very old style. Speed is not important. Very interested in the solutions you have found to overcome lowering a car when it has such huge suspension travel normally.
I've got my eye on a very cool AK van that's been sharing a rented garage with my '67 automatic beetle for years now and it hasn't turned a wheel for 10 years at least. It's crying out to be saved just as it is; very ratty! A good coat of matt eggshell blue, some cool period graphics, lowering and it'll look great. I've just got to find the owner and stuff some money into his hands!
Great to be here with like-minded crazy people!

Hi Brooky!
Welcome here!!
I guess you saw the topic about lowering a 2 CV!
You should find all the good parts you need for that in the UK! _________________ www.super2cv.com |

Hi Etienne,
Thanks for the warm welcome. I may have seen the topic but if you could provide me with a link to it that would be good & I can make sure.
I'll try to get a couple of pics of the van loaded up over the weekend.
Cheers.

Hi Neil.
Thanks for the welcome mate. I've got some phone pics (not bad actually for a phone, I must have a very steady hand!). Can't load them yet until I have a couple more posts. I've blocked out the number plate as I don't actually own it yet. Still trying to get hold of the owner!

Right, if I can remember how to do this from the other forum I'm a member of (nothing dodgy, VW Type 25 owners forum; club80-90), there should be pictures below.

Pretty rusty & battered but low roof version. 1966 I think judging by the 'D' registration. |

Cheers Neil. I wondered what model it was. Am I right in thinking that the AK400 is the high roof version? God knows why the side view came out on its end. It 'aint like that on photobucket!
Here's a couple more;
