In the Traction Avant topic we were talking about roof chops, well this is my Ford before
and after a 3 inch (750mm) chop out of the screen
we wanted subtle and I think we achieved that.
here is a side view
please note we are NOT using the wheels in the last picture, just for planning only!!!! _________________ In-the-Shed Speed Shop. |

Hey Shaun, can't you get the original rims widened to go on the rear and leave the fronts standard width??
They are a nice looking retro rim, they just need a bit of paint and tyre detailing .
Oh yeah and stretch the chassis about 18" _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |

Just looked at the photo's again. I think i would drag the front axle out from under the engine and put it in front of the grill with a lowered single leaf spring and extended hairclips down the sides.
Then Z(zed) the rear chassis behind the cab to get the rear nice and low. If you make the sides of the buck slightly higher, you would still have a useable truck .
Like the roof chop, subtle but cool. _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |

The top chop looks good, but that's true this thing is too short!!
I guess you're planing to keep the fenders? _________________ www.super2cv.com |

Glad you like her guy's.
Tony, a mate of mine is building exactly what you have described so I'm not going to copy him.
I am going to be running her with cycle fenders, I'm not sure about the front axle placement yet, we will wait until I have the wheels I'm going to use and then play around with the design but will probably end up just behind the grill..
The rear axle is going back around 10 inches with a Model A style bed. It is going to be a traditional style pickup with Tall Fat tyres on the back and skinnies up front, slight rake to the front but I will be keeping her quite high as I plan to haul the Panther Bobber around in the back when I go to show's, plus I will be carrying magazines etc so can't really go for the lowrider/rat look. _________________ In-the-Shed Speed Shop. |
