I had some Ak400 panels on my acadiane. There are not 100% the same inside but it works!
Cool roofrack! Good idea a short one!
About tie rod, you can buy longer one in Holland at "Burton". Maybe Björn can say use more about that.
For the ANWB logo, you should make them in sticker, no? _________________ www.super2cv.com |

Hi Max,
I'm in holland too and around the cornor from Burton (might even go there next Saterday) plus I'm in the UK a couple of times a year. So when you are not in a great hurry I can deliver (small) things for noting in the UK. About the trackrod ends, yes you can get lengthened ones at Burton, but they are for 2cv. Do AK400/ACA have the same diameter track rods as 2cvs or are they bigger? What ever is the case, if you are a good welder (or know one) you can lengthen them yourself as well.
Cheers, Bart |

If you can get me a set of tie rod ends i can lengthen them for you, but ill need to know how long they have to be, I might be able to get hold of a set down here, but if you can post a set to me Ill do it and send them back.
I asked me mate about Van panels, he has some but doesnt want to sell them, but Im pretty sure between us we can find some, if there is anything in south east of england Ill go and collect it for you. Try ringing Silly CV's, if they have any they are likely to want stupid money for them, but worth a try. _________________

Right-o. It'll be made from 26.9mm round tube, and as long as i can borrow an AKS400 ill get the curve around the sides of the roof right, so it sits as close as possible, do a drawing roughly of what you want and the sizes etc, dont have to be leo DaVinci standard.
When i get a few lunch breaks spare ill start knocking something up. _________________

cool beans. your a good man russ. my only fear about the whole half a roof thing is that my van isnt the most rigid of things...
as yu can see the roof had a bit of a dip when i got her...
at the minute for my support on the roof rack the only thing i can think of is two straight rods thru the roof down to the inside of the car to support weight? i wouldnt actually use it much.
as niel says, its all about the look. |

If the roofrack bolts through the roof where it shows it on the photoshop, itll be fine, the way the roof curves and the way the forces act on it, if anything, should stiffen the roof up a bit.
Ill borrow my mate Andys 400 at some point and get to work on coming up with something cool looking. _________________

Hey.
I used the lengthened track rods from Burton on two Acadianes now (in front). So they should fit an AK400. You can also use Acadiane rear track rod ends, they're even longer than the Burton ones.
As for making them, The Burton ones are not really expensive. For what you get anyway.
If you want to get it really low in the back, you'll probably have to lengthen the shocks as well. I did for my Woodyane. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

Are we talking about Tie rods and not track rods? the threaded rod that exits the spring cannister and goes into the swing arms?
