i would guess you also have to raise it to have some suspensiontravel..
narrowing the front axle should help indeed! |

its not mine, it's just a picture i found on the net a while ago.

i am not to sure if i am going to use them seats now after all,might just shorten the 2cv ones |

Like everyone else (well except one or 2) you need to put lower profile tyres and narrow the front end, as well as modify the angle of the swivel/kingpin assembly.
Ideally you also need to modify the shock absorber fitment on the arms, to respect the original distance and angle.
in that way you will have a car that will steer and perform properly.
