Hi all,
I would like to introduce myself.
My name is Martin and I came across this truely international forum through the recommendation of ami8i.
The threads dicussed here are very interesting for me since I have mounted a VISA V06/630 engine in my FIAT 500 .
I am very satisfied with this reliable and powerful engine.
Much to my regret I have read on the website of André Jacques (www.2cv-pp.be) that he has no longer 9.0 and 9.6 pistons available.
Here are fotos of my engine swap:

Welcome,
I saw this swap in German/Dutch border meeting in 2004.

Hi
interesting ! what box do you use ?
As for the pistons, there will always be the (expensive) option of piston made to order... then again, it would be possible to have a certain quantity made to reduce costs...

It's an interesting combo you've got there, Martin
Does the cooling fan work properly with the engine turned backwards? Do you know the oil temperature while pushing hard?
Btw, I have an old Fiat myself, a 238 _________________ '71 2cv 6 · '74 Ami Super Berline · '70 Ami 6 Service (project) · 2(3) AZU projects · 2cv since '93 · C5 v6.24 · GPicasso 2.0 hdi · 307cc |

With my V06/630 engine I am using the VA1/VD1. I have also tested the VA4/VD4 box of the later V06/665 engine, but I couldn't notice a difference.

1: I hope so... The ram air is missing in any case, but when you driving in the mountains at high tempertures, the fan has to suffice also with the engine installed in the front.
2: I have mounted an additional oil cooler under the floor panel. To tap the oil circuit I used a so called sandwich plate that is mounted under the oil filter. Even on the highway at top speed I don't have temperatures of more than 95°, thanks to the thermostat in the sandwich plate. (see also my fotos on flickr[link here on the bottom])

This a photo of a VISA conversion of a friend of mine. In the meantime he has kicked his VISA engine and has replaced it by a 4 cyl CITROEN GS engine, 1220 cc, 58 hp.
Here are some more photos:

He has switched to the GS engine because he needs a stronger towing vehicle for his home made teardrop trailer. This is a smaller copy of the T@B produced by TABBERT. He really is an excellent craftsman:

Hello Jozef,
I am using the stock gear box. A lot of 500 drivers have already the FIAT 126 600ccm engine and gear box installed.
Therefore the drive shafts are already a bit "sturdier".
My guess is that these gear box are good for up to 40 hp, as long as you do not overload it.

First you can try that "email-button" on end of his post.
Are you also installing 2cv/visa engine on Fiut?
