Mehari isn't light either, and this one is all light sheet metal so might even be lighter than a mehari.

Guys, when its finished i will get it weighed at a weigh bridge and compare its weight to a standard 2cv.
Im hoping that it will be slightly lighter as i only have half the body (NO ROOF OR DOOR TOPS ETC) and it wont have much in the way of interior trim/panels etc
Did anyone see it at Winchester at the British National Show??
I would apppreciate any feedback on what you saw (GOOD OR BAD ).
Cheers, Tony. _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |

Oh, and the only piece of glass will be the windscreen as it will not have a roof or side windows, so that will make it a lot lighter as well _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |

Hello Joe. Ive done a bit more n the rear end and today fitted a universal joint on the old steering column so that i can put it in a slightly different angle. Didnt take any photos tho so will have to do those next time im over the workshop. _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |

The latest update====
Done a bit more on the rear panel ready for the towbar and the boot lid to be fitted.
[/img]
Also capped the top of the dashboard ready to mount the folding windscreen.
Ive tried to make the dash as smooth as posible and with as little clutter as i can. The original shelf will be plated over to smooth it off also.
[/img]
Final part for now, the Instrument cluster. Ive made a new panel and moved the speedo to the left slightly. Down the right side of the speedo will be fitted three warning lamps, Generator/Oil/Rear fog. The rear fog light switch and and ignition will be fitted on the right side of the Cluster. I have also fitted a Universal Joint at the base of the steering coloumn to allow the wheel to fit closer to the dash panel.
Next time, more work on the rear and boot lid!!! _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |

Done a bit more on the Kubel.
Finished the dash, nice and simple
[img]
Done a bit on the bonnet frame and front section.
[/img]
Then done the rear section. Just gotta do the detailed bits to finish it off. Gotta fit a fake fuel filler and bulge where the tank should be underneath.

More soon [/img] _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |

LOL , calm down guys. Yes for some of you the wheel is on the 'wrong side' but as this will be used mainly in the UK i chose to leave it as it is. It also probably makes it the only Right Hand Drive 'Kubel' ever made, lol (and yes i know its not a real one ). _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |
