If they say something about those frenshed tail lights in MOT, you can
A) make long bolts to bring them out for MOT, or
B) read from your contrys car rule book what it says about tail lights. I bet
there must be written angles where light should show and many times tail
light only need to show light behind, not on side. They cant fail you with out
rules.
At least in finland rear lights should show light on behind of car, thats it.
I didnt have any problem with my frenshed lights.

Did you ever see a policeman checking if that "e" is on your lights ?
and do they really check that at the TüV ? _________________ www.super2cv.com |

yes they do, thats a really big problem here. since the japan-tuning-car fans put those bad looking "klarglas" light all around their plastic-bombers.
and the first thing they would do if they would catch me is to check if alle lights are ok. because this is the only thing they know about 2cvs. :)
it's also a big insurance problem. if someone crashes my car, and the oppenent estimator ( schadens gutachter ) notices that my car does not a have a legal operating license ( that happens if i put light without e-sign on my car ), noone will pay for the damage ! _________________ in rust we trust... |

I thought Germany had factories that built pre war Fords...
If that is the case...
It means that the lights fitted to these cars are suitable for use on German roads.
That's kind of how it works in France, in any case... 'cause there aren't any retroactive laws on vehicles (if a car didn't have indicators or seatbelts when new, you are not required to fit any.) _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

That sucks !
I talked this morning with a motorbiker and told me the same story actually about this "e" thing !
And if you have papers of a 2 CV from the 1950's, do you also need this "e" ? Cause as Joseph said, in the past this didn't exist ! _________________ www.super2cv.com |

Moreover would that mean Etienne and I (just moved to Cologne) are not insured in germany when we don't have "e" lights...? _________________ I like to play |

Bart is your car still registered in holland ?
if so, you are OK.
EU regulations mean that a car that is legal in the country it is registered and insured in, is allowed to drive anywhere in EU. _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

My car is registered in France.
I have two possibilities :
- register in Germany and I'm allowed to modify a bit my 2 CV but it's pain the ass cause Police check, Technic control check and blabla.
- register in France where it's strictly forbidden to modify anything on my car, but nobody cares ! _________________ www.super2cv.com |
