Nice done video, the audio of the F1 car is very good fitted to the video, really cool.
Love the car, would have done other headlight solution, but the exhaust through the body and the diffuser style rear, very cool.
Allthough it might be somewhat "80's" i think it is very neatly made.

I think the video is really stupid
Sounds like a 12 year old kid school project...
Here's more pics of that awful thing :
Seems like there is also a channelling, and looks like it is a very good job. But a whatta style... _________________ www.super2cv.com |

I find the car butt ugly. but what do I know
interestingly enough, the windscreen isn't chopped... but simply slanted back...
But as usual, the big hump is there on the bck of the car, because nobody bothers to "shrink" the 3rd window zone of the body... _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

top chop seems to be well done, but everything else sucks.
the big headlights look like shit and the back of the car , the racing-difusor also looks like shit.
good work, but not my taste.
There's no accounting for taste.

I won't comment on the rest of the car, but as for the top chop:
Tilting the windscreen is a good idea and works well.
The c-pillar needs more work. It doesn't look good at all. (Look at the rear door and the drip rail.)
Fixing the "hump" is not easy if you want to follow the line of the rear hatch. Only way is to
tilt the whole rear - which, of course, is the way to go. (The problem is the same on beetles.)

By tinting the windscreen you destroy line what bonnet and tringle panel are
making. You can see it when you see car straight from side. Also sharp front
corner of front door windows aint the best looking.

Maybe.
But I'd rather see people chop 2cv like the one in black and white photo than anything else that has been done since the 80s

I really luv the Dagonet roof chop and style. I translated one of the articles about the Dagonet into English HERE. If anyone is interested i need someone to host it for me to make it permenant .
Anyway, here is a Photoshop of the Dagonet specs i made up a while ago from the information in the article, Front Windscreen tilted 12degrees, Body sectioned 10cm, middle support moved 5cm back, overall height dropped 18cm (8cm roof 10cm body).
It is not perfect but i like the proportions. If i built this car i would definatly clean up the line on the rear fender. I would also like the option of being able to carry rear passengers... maybe i need shorter friends
The original...

I agree but i think it puts the body out of proportion...

Lose the hood scoop, bumpers and put the headlights in a recess in the front fenders and you get some proportion back.
Lower it and sort out the rear fender and you're there. I think this treatment will look better on an old nose, though. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

Wow ! Great job you did Harley !
I made many searchs about Dagonet few years ago. I tried to convince a chief redactor of a famous 2cv magazine to make something whith all the informations I collected, but I think I didn't ask the right man...
Few weeks later, he made some articles about a Dagonet a fench guy bought recently and make it rebluit, whith pieces of news I gave him...
I can't download, or don't know how to, the translation you made. I'd really like to look at your work.
Give me your e-mail adress and I send you the result of my searchs.
BTW, Etienne, if you're interested in, tell me. There's a lot af work to do to make a interesting paper, but it's you're job and you certainly have more web to find some people who knows something about these cars. And you leave closer than me from Reims, where is leaving Jean Dagonet's son who have lot of pictures from his father.
Cheers.

@ Clod
Email sent!!
@ Kustombart
Yeah totally agree about old bonnet, I have not looked in to the tech/difficulties of recessing the headlights, i do like the adjustment... I would love to create the iconic Dagonet bonnet with the double oval intake and scoop
I think the scoop also gives extra clearence under the bonnet which is required after the sectioning??
Cheers

I guess you do need extra clearance when you section the body 10cms. Look at Etiennes channeled Dyane. He lost 12cms under the bonnet and a Dyane nose has more space. That said, an old 2CV bonnet has less space under it than a new one. Maybe a scoop is a must. But do you really want to recreate exactly what Dagonet made or do you want to make a nice car with your own ideas? In that case, from an estetic point of view, I would not put a scoop on it unless it is really necessary. I think a shaker hood would look even better then. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.
