Old scrap Dyanes. They has become this Andrea!, my first running A-model. In these pictures, she looks very ordinary. This is because the pictures are taken for the insurance company, which requires, that she is to be in historically correct condition, in order to be insured as a classic car, which means cheaper insurance in Denmark. (the number plats are Danish test plates, made of adhesive paper, rented on daily basis) The insurance company don´t require pictures fro inside, so they wont see this.... the best money can buy from IKEA! The door panels is original from the red 1976 Dyane. Andrea is originally from Sweden and is from 1968. To get MOT in Denmark, you have to pay tax because it is at import car. The engine was in bad condition and chassis was very rotten and had to bee changed. Then the hole idea in this project is " keep it simple and low budget", I found an other scarp Dyane from 1979, the green one, with Danish Registration certificate. So the green Dyane became donor of chassis and engine. The chassis from the green had some rust the typical places and here is some pictures from the rebuilding.... Here the chassis is ready to receive the body.. Done... Some of the things I have to do in the future.... Drop her.... Find a smaller fog lamp although this had been found cheap at a flea market ( 7euro) Get her tattooed Make the last two rust spots I have a extra set of steel rims lining and I can´t decide, if I´m going to paint them red or yellow withe chrome hubcaps. Is the VW T2b also yours? 8) Thanks Muskie! As Olli wrote, the body is from 1968 and moved to a 1979 chassis. The VW T2b belongs to a very close friend, who is a VW freak. I welded my Dyane in his garage, there he has 65 Volkswagen. The T2b by the way, has only driven 19.000 km, as it has lived most of its life in a timber yard, so it is practically in new condition. _________________ I suffer from citrofilis ..... what's your excuse?
