Neil, I'll try to find a photo of the car and scan it onto here. It will very likely be in the background behind one of the various motorbikes I had over the years. Sadly I've no idea who he sold it to. You just don't realise at the time how important these things are. I've regretted selling everything I've sold in the way of cars and bikes and so did my Dad. I've stopped doing it now so I have an awful lot of cars (and one special motorcycle) and no time (or money), but at least I've stopped regretting!

Hey
you're right about the plates. get some made by a frenchie and have them sent over to you.
I have a 74 Bond Bug registered in France, and I would not have dreamt of having anything other than english type number plates...
Plates ruin a car anyway so you may as well get them done in the style of the country it comes from.

Are you offering Jozef? I'll happily pay for them & the postage. They would look absolutely top on this car!
Have you got a Paypal account?

Hiya
Yep I could easily do that for you.
I will need a scan of your V5 in order to prove that it's for a real registered car and not a Bank Robbery vehicle.

That's very kind of you Jozef but I can save you the trouble. I've found a firm in England that supplies French pattern plates. Proper pressed aluminium plates and even the accurate French font. Mind you they're bloody expensive.....£28 sterling (about 40 euros?) plus postage per pair!
Worth it for the look though.
Thanks again Jozef.

The web address is www.french-number-plates.com. Just hunt for the classique plates then go to the bottom of the page and click on 'french plate maker' to design your own plate. Put your reg number in then put as many spaces as you can get before the last three letters to get that authentic French look. Make sure you get rid of the hideous blue euro band!
But they ARE expensive and I can't find a postage charge. I think you have to get to the final paying page before they drop that one on you!
OR..... just Google "french number plates". There's a good few making them in the UK.

Yo Shed, just thought of a potential fly in the ointment. English made plates of any description (other than display plates) have to have the makers name & post code along the bottom edge. Could spoil the look don't you think?
