Next weekend, Neil and myself are off on a 'plane down to Limoge to collect an AKS400 van, his new badass whip.

Were also after a few spares and other odds and sodds as we drive home, ideally old 2cv spares, old veloSolex or Mobylette mopeds, Ami6/8 spares and very possibly, a tuned up cut-down style Peugeot 103 moped.

We will be starting our adventure back on friday 7th March, and will be arriving in Calais, to catch out ferry home on the 9th (sunday) If anybody has any of the above bits and pieces, or just fancies going out for a beer or several with us either friday or saturday night, OR if anybody can offer us any help should this AKS400 be a right dog, liable to breakdowns and disaster, that'd be just great. Cheers fellow SNAILers!

I'm not so far from Limoges (about an hour and half), at Egletons, Corrèze county (the place where the last french national took place). But unfortunately I'm very busy next week-end and no time to spend whith you. Never mind, it will be for a next time ! (when I'll go to England for example
Very Happy ).

But if you want, I can let you my phone number, in case of problems next to Limoges !. By the way, where exactly are you going to keep up this AK 400 ? Is it Georges Lachaise's garage ?
Georges is famous to be one of the first french who tried to have a garage specialized in 2cv ("AZ Restauration" at Chateauponsac, at an half an hour in the north of Limoges next to the A20 motorway). It was in 1991, to early for french customers...

Then he worked for "Neo Retro" as the 2cv specialist and since severals months, he owns again his own garage, associated whith two other persons :

It's just next to Limoges, and he has old and new spare parts pfor 2cv and derivates.

had a text message last night around 10:30 uk time. Seems finding a hotel has been rather difficult but the van is OK! plenty of other old Citroens on the roads still and only 256 miles left beofre they get to the ferry!

Good luck to them!
