I just read it. I didn't very much liked his style. Too clean for me. He did build a lot of important cars, he was a major influence on the hotrod scene, good or bad.

I had to do a topic about this.
I am shocked, I still remember when I bought at the newstand my copy of AUTOLOISIR, I was maybe 16, must be in december of 82,and there was the 33 and 32 he build for Verne Luce: it was a blast!
Return of the hot part of rodding after a decade of resto rodding. Like lil'John Buttera, what he had not, he milled it out of aluminium shunk.
And that was just a start, how many America Most Beautiful Roadster trophie did he won?
He is at the origin of the billet movement, wheels, dash board, you name it...
I read on the HAMB that another very talented man has left the the hotrod world. Like him or not, apprecite his visions or hate em, you can not deny the incredible impact he had on the the hotrod community and even non-car people.I do agree.

And maybe that his creations are main reason why, by reaction, traditional hot-rodding is back again?

Ah ha so that´s why Chip was so happy lately.

Ok didn´t like his way of doing things, they build some great cars, but in general not my style. But good thing that we all have different styles, but we all love 2cv. Very Happy

i don't like is steril shiny rods.
in the tv show ( american hotrod ) he also was very arrogant and also really nasty to his employees.

but off course he is a big part of the hot-rod history.
respect, he achieved a lot in his life.

rest in peace.

I will remember him best for the Cadzzilla. I think it is one of the best Leadsleds ever built. It is also one of the few of his cars I really liked.

Here the clean look really works.
