And this modified Burton is not a beauty... These Kit cars have a good success in UK as well as in NL!
Why do dutch and british people like these plastic cars trying to look like old cars, but actually looking like nothing (or crap most of the time)??? _________________ www.super2cv.com |

Well most people who build them are not 2cvers in the first place. Secondly the concept works great for a lot of people (who are probably not too bothered about 2cvs), building a Burton is building their own car... it is sort of LEGO for adults, thats why a lot of people like them.
Cheers, Bart
p.s. I could see Felix pics cause I'm not on myspace, can you show them in an other way? |

the car is ugly, but it is an interesting engine option, because motorcycle engines are powerful and light. does anyone have some experience with that? is there a problem with power range, because 2cv is much heavier than motorcycle? what about flywheel?
(perhaps admin could move this to new topic about motorcycle engines conversions) |

If you stick with bmw engine or moto-guzzi engine this is no problem with 2cv. RPM range usable, the clutch is also dry plate clutch. But making conversion is not cheap.
Moto-guzzi engine was designed to be used in a small car (some thing like fiat 500) but never really happened, later used in motorcycle´s.
Also Hayabusa engine is used in a westfield, car weighs about 435KG, Although this engine is turbocharged and has about 450HP. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |

The modern BMW engine is heavier than the 2cv one.
It would be better to have Ami Super chassis.
Maybe Geoff cand show a pic of the chassis of his "24h race" 2cv? _________________ www.super2cv.com |
