Guys. My engine cooling fan blades are damaged and some have the ends snapped off.
Can anyone tell me if the plastic 2cv fan will fit the early 602cc Ami6 engine that i have in my car?
If not, any ideas where i can buy a new or good used Ami6 one?

Cheers, Tony Very Happy

Not for me guys as i want to keep the rusty look and simply seal it in so it doesnt rust any further.

It will of course continue to rust underneath, that is inevitable.

Yeah i know Jozef Crying or Very sad but i will spray the underneath of the body with either old engine oil which will soak into the metal, or anti rust underseal spray Very Happy
Either way it will slow down the rust i hope Neutral

Any ideas on a cooling fan, whether a 2cv will fit the early Ami6 engine??

Tony,
an M4 fan is of larger diameter than that used on later 602 engines and you really need to use the correct one, otherwise cooling efficiency will be reduced.

Leboncoin or Ebay.fr would be your best bet. this looks to be OK as it's got 8 blades, but be careful as a 435cc fan also has 8 blades but is much smaller.

Tony,
I should have tried to dig out the M4 engine that's buried at the back of the shed here, but a later (9 blade) fan is 270mm in diameter, so I guess that you'd be looking for one that's closer to 290mm.

My fan was shredded. But i used an AM2 block with M4 heads so just used a 2cv fan. Cant help you out on that one. But dont think the crank cone is the same size on an M4 as the one on a modern 602

Tony,
checked today and a later pulley does fit OK on an M4 crankshaft, so the tapers do seem to be compatible.
Had another look at that one on Leboncoin and the fact that the pulley is rivetted together means it's about 99% certain to be an M4 type... Wink
In the last couple of years, 2 owners of AK350s I know have had to resort to Leboncoin to track down replacement M4 fans.

Tony,
vendors on Leboncoin often seem (very) reluctant to send items beyond French borders, so I've always asked a friend who lives in Brittany to buy things for me, then post them onwards or bring them herself when she visits the UK.

I'm sure there's some kind soul on this forum, a resident of la belle France, who could be persuaded to do the same for you.
After the French National, of course... Wink
