|
|
Hello to all,
I am a new member living in the British colonies.
I have 2x2CV that I have saved in order to restore, and a 1971 AK350.
I am mostly a diesel mechanic but the 2CV is like a mania or an addiction.
I also speak and write French as well as I write English, so you can send me messages in French and get a comprehensible reply!
My question: On the internet I have heard about a 2CV equipped with a small two-cylindre air-cooled diesel.
Since I now have enough parts to make an extra car, I would like to know if anyone has information on this car or on the engine which will fit. I was told that the engine is a two-cylindre, air cooled.
Does anyone know?
Thanks!
======================

it should be not that hard to build an dieselengine in your 2cv
just find a small engine that seems to fit on your 2cv flywheel
and make an adapter for the gearbox
pull some electronics for the fuelpomp and your done......almost
there are more then enough secondhand diesels on the market
but I whould go for a 3 cilinder
2 cilinder diesels run like shit _________________ https://picasaweb.google.com/bram.martsen |

Thanks, I'll do more research and get a good Finnish translation device for the page.
It appears that the engine is an 800 cc engine but I cannot tell if it is diesel or not, I assume yes. |

what do you base your opinions on regarding two-cylinder diesels? and are you talking industrial or motive-power? |

I've been working for 25 years now with 2 and 3 cilinder diesel engine's
these are small car diesel versions in provesional lawn mowers(I'm a Headgreenkeeper on a golfcourse)
2 cilinders, in my opinion are loud and rough
3 cilinders are more smoother though there never gonna beat an petrol engine
note that these were all normal engines
maybe if you find a flat twin diesel it runs better
never seen one though _________________ https://picasaweb.google.com/bram.martsen |

Surely tho if you fit a Diesel engine, which revs half as high as a 2cv engine, it will make your car half as fast, unless you fit Monster Truck size wheels and tyres or fit a Differential from a non 2cv gearbox????? _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |
