I have a dilemma - with or without triangle plates? I'm thinking without. Perhaps move the windscreen fluid bottle out of sight or replace it with something nicer - a Malibu bottle perhaps? Any views?

I really like the Plexi idea! Have to think about that. Guess I need to make som nice ventilation holes though.

I have been thinking plexi concerning the other windows - pink plexi, so why not start with the triangle plate.

woaaw,

i think i would have hated the steering wheel in any other car.. but it suits this thinkg really nicely with all the pink flakes everywhere :)

but.. now the dash needs customizing too, don't you think?

nice job on the box for the pedals too. i've been working on my own pedals tonight, and especially the gaspedal needed a lot of fiddling. but hey i got it done :)

keep up the good work!

I was talking about the roof actually

This isn't much of a solution though for a daily driver :

Laughing

If the car is used regularly and parked outside it will yellow out in like 6 months or so

Thanks for all the input!

You should see the steering wheel in real life - it's such a treat! Especially the engraving that says "Mooneyes Santa Fe Springs Cali." and "California Metal Flake". And yes - I was a bit anxious about the style for the 2CV, but I think it works.

The interior definitely needs some work - but that will be next winters project.

I heard about the fading of the roof - I will keep it mostly indoors however so maybe it will stay fresh at least for a summer or two. I'll let you know how it deteriorates...

You should remove the big dash for an old small one. Looks much better I think.
I'm waiting to see a picture of the whole car...

Yup - have a dash like just waiting to be put in place. Priority now was to get the exterior finished first though. I still need to find a small early front bumper however. Maybe I'll just order one from Franzose.

I have to mention that it was real easy to fit the Mooneyes steering wheel. Two holes were placed right but had to be widened about a millimeter each. One hole was slightly off but I just drilled a new one next to it. The old hole is covered by the washer of the bolt. Then I used two washers per bolt between the steering wheel and the steering column plate to free the steering wheel from the top part of the column that extends a bit - didn't want to grind that down for strength reasons.

The mandatory side indicators are a real pain stylewise. I took away the ugly ones on the sides of the fenders. But where should I place new ones? And which type? I then remembered that I had mini LED indicators that I had bought for the my motorbike but never used. The shape is pretty similar to the the door handles. Here is what I did.

I drilled a hole in the corner of the triangle plate with the same diameter as the indicator bolt. I then took a long hexagonal bolt and tightened it in the hole with a nut on the reverse side. I then carefully bent the triangle plate hole so that the indicator could be placed as in the pictures.
