woop! now your talking my language!
I dont do big expensive stuff but have fun with what i have got!
2CV Dolly - the audio queen! (lol, at the national anyway)
Clarion remote control mp3 cd player, line out to mini Blaupunkt active sub (small but kicks well), then 17cm JBL fronts and 6x9" rears in 12mm MF boot floor... sounds mint if i say so myself!
Ami - un tested
Trying to keep weight down and stealthy... so i have 4x6" JBL under the back seat and sony 3/8" tweeters above the A-post, plus the same sub as in the 2cv which is removable to use with both cars, will be quieter but being metal roof and having tweeters to lift the sound should sound ok! again a similar clarion head unit. the Ami will have the adition of a line gain controller.
both cars have a sub kill switch for girlfriend transportation.
If i find any pictures ill post them up!
please dont steal my stuff now
Forgot the mehari has a sony MD headunit as no one has MD so no one will steal it and that has an FM modulator input line and JBL 6x4" under the front seats _________________ 86 Dolly

Beachcomber currently running eleven speakers
Head unit: Kenwood KDC M6021G (MP3 player thru aux-in) Optinal 10-disc changer
Fronts: Two-way components - 6" woofer with tweeters mounted up near dashboard
Rears: three way components mounted on MDF shelf behind rear seat
Amps: Kenwood amp driving all rears
Sub: Vibe 8" boxed driven by Kenwood monobloc amp
sounds ace. Nicely balanced. Not sound-off winning by any meand but it goes loud with no distortion. Although currently a trying to trace an intermittent earthing fault that causes the amps to cut out
AZU: Need tro build something for this year
2cv6: As above, but got a pioneer sub and some 6x9's lined up to go in

it's really important to have good and loud music-equipment in your car.
sometimes i think that my stereo.equipment is more expensive than my whole car. :)
the problem is that you don't have a lot "sound-volume" in the 2cv.
no closed spaces like in other cars.
the original door interior is much to light. the best way is to make a big "medium density fiberboard" -plate and put some big speakers in.
same in the back of the car.
but if you don't have rearseats you can also forget that.
the next thing is the small dynamo.
lights, wipers, radio, amp's and the dynamo screws up.

I made doorpanels of wood to put some real big speakers in it.
in the back there is a (small) sub-woofer and 2 amplifiers
I got a Sony BlackPannel head unit
This all was not so expensive and the sound is really good
I just can find 1 picture, sorry for the bad quality, I'll try to make some new pix this weekend.

Yes indeed, i'll make other pictures, then you can see it better. I had to use 3 layers of wood for the oval because the magnet of the speaker is so big. |

I like music, but I don't like audio system in the 2CV. I think it just doesn't fit right... Too small, engine too loud, too wet!
So for moment I use this:

mmmmh too dangerous
I used minidisc in combination with an amplifier mounted in the back together with 2 small woofers. In the front two small wide band speakers for mid and high, very small and fitted on the door hinge covers. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |
