Decided to build something to tow my Kubelwagen to shows with and a dry place to sleep without putting up a tent. This is what ive come up with......
This one has a hard timber body on the back used as a radio shack. Mine will have timber sides and a canvas roof.
[/img]
This is my base vehicle, a 1999 Ford Transit truck. Its diesel, 5 gears and pulls like a train. To get the front right i will have to move the engine and gearbox back along the chassis about 2 foot to allow for the Citroen grill and front wings.
The back will have a timber flatbed with timber sides and a canvas roof. Should be nice and dry inside for camping at shows
[/img]
I have just bought this bodyshell which is very very similar to the TYPE 23 cab. By using this it will save me weeks of build time.

This 'poor' photo is of the rear of the car body. Im going to use this to construct extra seating in the rear for friends and family etc. You will not see this from the outside as it will be hidden behind ammo crates and appear as a 'load' in the rear of the truck. Passengers will access the rear seats through the front passenger door and climb through ito the rear.
[/img]
It all sounds a bit confusing, but when ive done some sketches i'll add them here which will explain it better (i hope) _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |

That's nut and I like it !
You know I think it's quite possible to find a 23 body for a good price in France... _________________ www.super2cv.com |

that explains your search for a traction grille!!!
there's another Citroen that could supply a suitable front , I think it's called a B2, and is much more plentiful, hence cheaper. _________________ if it aint broke, fix it till it is |

Cheers Guys for the kind words
Etienne, yeah i could probs get a type23 body but would have to cut it around to make it fit and add a rear section to it for the extra seating. You know me i like a challenge,
Breninfrance, B2? Arrr i see, ive never heard of one, but will have a look on Google Images and see what it looks like.
The 1937 traction Grill is perfect because it is the exact part they used on the original build and unlike other year models, the 1937 has the starter handle hole in the right place, the others are all too high
If anyone hears of an early traction grill and all 3 parts of the bonnet, i would be very interested in buying it _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |

German spy??????
No Brammie, im a military vehicle nut and really like the german stuff as its so much more interesting than the british and american vehilces.
Even the camoflage patterns were unique to the german army as the boring old brits and yanks just threw green paint over everything. At least the germans looked at their surroundings and adapted their vehicles and clothing to suit _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |

Just had a look at your link Olli .
Lovely truck but a bit pricey though .
Also i need the extra seating in the back so i will stick with my idea. I hope to build and finish it for that sort of money _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |
