I will maybe start a new project like the prototype about citroen the 'Type G'.
Only to get papers for this project in the futere it must be fit on a 2cv chassis. What will i do? Fitt the project on an 2cv chassis or is an ami 8 or acadiane chassis better?
Other tips and tricks are welcome. For the bodywork i will mixe parts of an acadiane and hy together.

ami chassis would probably be better, well, meaning axles and suspension. If you have 2cv papers and chassis just use them with AMI axles etc.
definitely a cool project, make sure you get proportions perfect however _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

Acad chassis has a 10cm longer wheelbase iirmc. Maybe you need that for the right proportions. Otherwise, since it may get heavier than a 2cv maybe the slightly stronger chassis ami/van type is better tha 2cv/dyane.
Cool project, keep us up to date please! |

ooh! this is all new to me
reading between the lines, I'm guessing it's a 3/4 size H van, but running 2cv drivetrain etc.
if I have it right, then I'm loving the idea
wikipedia came to the rescue, hell yes making one from scratch would be one of the coolest trucks on the road!!. I know I'd love one
what a cool camper? _________________ if it aint broke, fix it till it is |

You should really check it at the Citroën Conservatoire and get all the good length. _________________ www.super2cv.com |

I was thinking that you would probably more likely need an AZU for the correct ripple pattern on the bodywork ? _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

The roof of an Acadiane might work. But he would probably better build the panels himself actually. _________________ www.super2cv.com |

Thanks for al the reactions :)
I think the size between the front and backwheel looks like the same as an AZU/2cv.
The suggestion to get an Ami chassis is a good one. Stronger, bigger suspensionsprings and off course the stabilisator.
i will try to get an old front off een HY en cut that to an smaller size. The backside gonne be a mix off acadiane ripple roof and hy pieces. _________________ 2cv rolls beter then a rolls! |

Thanx rusty! Nice pictures.
I've been in the conservatoire too in february this year and off course i made some nice pictures about the G too. Only the scales an sizes are verry difficult to get the good one.
I gonne try to mail the conservatoir to get more information/documentation about the G.
I think the best combination is to fit everything on a acadiane chassis and cut it behind the wheels (like an azu and mehari). _________________ 2cv rolls beter then a rolls! |

A bit more work required on the track and wheel/wheel size but it seems like a decent effort already _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

Nice pictures Citroenazu about this well done replica :)
Only the wheelsizes are to small i think so.
Did you also seen the technic part about this car?
Are this 'Type G' built on a 2cv chassis or makes the owner a selfmade platform whit a beast off an engine
I think he used original Hy doors _________________ 2cv rolls beter then a rolls! |

This replica was based on an ami 8 chassis.
And you are right when you built a good replica then you also cut the Hy doors a little bit smaller tot get the right sizes. Look at the pictures about the interior whit the 2cv magazine(?). He used also the old window frames. Thats why i think that it was original HY doors.
Did somebody knows what kind off magazine it was? At the fornt page i see an articel about (this?) replica G. _________________ 2cv rolls beter then a rolls! |

I started to build one of these and got as far as building the chassis using a 2cv version but shortened as the dimensions on the net make it shorter than a standard 2cv.
The problem i had was getting the steering to work because on the G van you are sitting ontop of the engine and the steering rack is behind the engine. It made it very diffucult to connect the steering wheel to the rack and pinion system.
If you work out how to do the Steering it will be a very cool Van to build and i might have to attempt one myself, lol _________________ If it works ok, "LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE". |
