I want to chop and channel one of my 2cvs, has anybody got any pictures of a car being chopped? I need to know where the best place to cut is and where to extend the roof and how the shape of the rear side panels are changed.

I'm planning to make one chopping and channeling too...

What sort of chopping you are planning. There is many ways to make it.

here is some different results:

this one (upper) is interesting:

doors are moved down.. but maybe this is not good idea whit channeling..

Limbo rock, maybe the best one :

Chop a 2CV seems to be a really difficult work, cause every thing is curved...

Here roof is too flat :

Wel I cant find a picture of it at the moment, but there was a chopped 2cv in grey primer at Salbris last year, I want to do that kind of thing, I dont like the shape of dagonets, the back of the roof/boot is too flat.

I just want to chop the roof and not the doors/wings etc, I dont want to make it too low with channeling etc, just a decent custom look, I think it could go too far, maybe 75mm channeling and 75mm chop in total, i think this would look good.

I think 2cv is not so curved at all! think about beetle or some americans.
2cv dont even have metal roof! I think 2cv is not even close most difficult
car to chop!

Trouble with 2cv is getting the chop to look smooth i think, the yellow car in the photo looks odd because the roofline goes up after the middle door post, the grey car suffers the rear door window being an awkward shape, I realise this will most likely end up with the car being scrapped when i try it but at least if i try and fail ill have learnt something along the way....

I think Dyane is easier to chop and may look better? I have a scrap Dyane shell but it need so much work doing its not worth it.

Go on whit 2cv! I think biggest broblem in 2cv custom scene is that
people are doing things in most easy, fast and cheap way. and it shows Confused

OK then, I need to put it on new chassis so ill do channeling when i replace floors and bulkhead panels, Im guessing i need to modify light bar and wing mounts at the front for that too.

I will try and cut up a scrap shell or two for another few top sections, this should make it easier to deal with when i come to do it and if i make mistakes, Ill be doing it around the end of the year so Ill post pics as I do it, but Id love to see pictures of cars being chopped, just to give me an idea where to cut etc.
