Hi all
My question is can visa gears be fitted into the LNA gear casing without machining?
Cheers

I believe they can, the only difference in the gearing is that 3rd gear is slightly lower on the Visa, but I don't think the difference would be noticed in the real world.
As it is only the cases that are different you could transfer the complete internals over, as the final drive crown wheel and pinion are the same.
What do you want to achieve?

Hi Harley
Thanks for quick reply
I've been developing a 652 visa engine with supercharger mated to a 2cv box with visa bell housing . I have a couple of visa boxes which are no good in A series but have just got hold of a couple of LNA boxes with the caliper mountings already drilled and tapped. Unfortunately both have been left outside for years and both are rusted on the inside so swapping the gears will give me two usable boxes with gs brakes and calipers, just need to get adapters for discs made up
Cheers

Nice one Boggy,
I am going to try something similar, 1015 crownwheel and pinion into my LNA box to get a lower final drive, making it same as LN.
I will also look into machining a lower 1st gear ratio to help with the hill climbs
Lna box on a tuned 652cc is awesome! Cool

Hi
I don't think your adapters will fit unfortunately as the output shafts on LNA gearbox have 2CV bolt pattern.Photo wouldn't load so cant be certain
Cheers

Hi

Not sure what you mean but will certainly have adapters made as this is a long term project that i want to see up and running for Spain next year. Engine fits well under a standard 2cv but looking at ways of fitting the engine lower in the chassis.
Any ideas welcome
Cheers

Yes you are correct.
I made aluminium adaptors thinking I would. Use a gs box. Then I got my hands on an LNA, now the adaptors are spacers, everything drilled/tapped out to m10 as long M9's where to hard to find..
Output shaft is also machined down 1mm.

Hi Harley
They look the bees knees, did you have to take a 1mm off the output shafts to clear the discs?
Dont suppose you could pm the dimensions or drawing if you have it?
I have calipers and discs on order.
Cheers

Yes.

My step father machined them for me.
I don't have any of the measurements written down sorry, I will measure the thickness for you.
Easiest thing would be to purchase Shadowsintonightmare's ones and drill the holes larger.
Or have him make a set for you out of aluminium, to cut down on weight.

I drew mine in QCAD had them laser cut out from mild steel with the holes centres marked by laser.
Have a drawings if you want them.
