Here's a bike a friend has built. It's a Suzuki GS750 hardtail. There's a whole buncha stuff he and his father made from scratch, including superclean handlebars, home-baked exhaust etc.

But I'm just here to tell ya'll bout the paintjob.

The tanks are made from steel plate, the fender has louvres from an old machine welded in. A lot of filler was needed....

After many hous sanding the colour goes on. Three colours red, sputtered on, to give a brick look & feel.

Then endless hours of sticking masking foil on it..

Then, spraying grey and peeling the mask off.

Then, some vandals came and put dirty graffiti all over it!

Now it looks like this.

man, this must have taken you many hours of precision work!!!!

awsome, really stunning.

Will it have a "clear" coat, orr will it be as "mat" as it is now?

And, the "Floor was(t) here(n)" ??

Don't know the thought behind it, but it is a really nice little touch i think.

No clearcoat needed, as the bricks are 2K and the graffiti is all enamel (same as pinstripe-paint) so it should be OK.

Clearcoat would ruin the texture, as well.

Floris is the owner, a little joke...

Yep, they're pleased as punch.

You have memories of some crappy tv show, I remember this:

It's finally finished. Yesterday was the last 12-hour painting session, delivered at 21.15 to the customer. Just in time for him to assemble the bike today and go to a show in England tomorrow.
