Hello Etienne,
thanks for looking.

Hello Robin,
please check this overview http://www.cats-citroen.net/citroen_atypes/tuning_2cyl.html#gearbox and the details http://www.cats-citroen.net/citroen_atypes/tuning_gboxconversion.html .
Yes G-boxes need more space.
I did some modifications based on Jeroens excellent document:
a) I use a LN (602ccm) gear box.
b) I organized an adapter group buy http://megasquirt-de.serviceline.ch/success/user0001/GSAmiSuper-2CV-Adapter0001.htm . You could order them today also.
c) I did not changed the cross box. But made 8-10cm long adapter pipes. Welded together some cm of exhaust manifold and some cm of (one) heater pipe.
d) Added 2 tiny 'frames' to make mounting lugs for the cross box (under gear box). They're fixed with (each) two of the 'hundred' gear box screws/bolts/nuts.
e) The rear gear box support was slightly modified to save some space. LN/LNA gear box speedometer drive is awful because output direction is different than GS/GSA/Axel. I had to narrow it dramatically. BTW LN/LNA speedometer ratio is different (13" 1670mm instead of 15" 1800mm tyres AND different speedometer! Correction factor = 1.36). I could not get off the big nut on main shaft so I could not replace speedometer (+cover) transmission with GSA (which would be on the shelf).
f) Bell housing (Visa) was shortened. But do not more than 1mm. Otherwise cluth springs will touch/grind.

I hope I told you each problem you will/would see installing a G box.

I guess injection is not allowed in any EU (continental :) ) country. Luckily my MOT garage is rather open minded. A single speed injection (TBI) + air filter like my Suzuki Swift could be done without detection (because nobody expects EFI inside). This days I had to remove the catalytic converters --> it's amazing how powerful engine is now. Caused on wider throttlebody (42mm) more air can be succked.

EDIT:
@G box:
g) In my Ami8 the OEM Ami8 clutch cable was too short. I guess the one from the shelf was a simple 2CV/Dyane clutch cable. I was such in a hurry so I didn't check the difference - but 2CV cables are ~2-5cm longer than Ami8. G box in 2CV couuld require a handmade cable or from any Cit (GS, Visa, LN, LNA...)?

Hi Robin, do not worry anymore about the visa box, I have found FOUR LNA boxes in scrapyards in the Charente. Some of them have threads for mounting brake calipers and some have only the holes, I do not know why they are different. I have bought one of them. Very Happy

Hello Joolz,
Jeoren Cats told me that just the earliy boxes had threads.
I wonder why they machined them all the time -->
i) Housing was made by the same source than GS/GSA --> it was cheaper to machine than seperate 2 models.
ii) Maybe they needed the machined surfaces + holes in production line (crane, grip(per) arm...)
iii) Citroen

Forgot to mention in an earlier posting:
How to sort out LN (602ccm) and LNA (652ccm) gear boxes?
LNA has got the Visa bell housing (2 mountings for the pick ups), while LN got an old fashioned looking bell housing (no edges, no mountings).
