Well, really the first sort of airbags on a production vehicle were of course on the 1953 traction avant commerciale rear axle. Though they are not bags as such, they were able to lift and lower the car..... Citroen rules!

About the Bijou, it's high time that Geoff post a few more pictures of this car...

About the metallic paints, I know that they have been around for a long time but the satin finish on a metallic job is something of the last few years. (like the "hotrod flats", as seen in the Ol'skool Rodz magazine. A magazine you will like, I think Jozef. Hell, you probably have a lifelong subscription, seeing your Edsel rod.

Will (the owner of this chevy) tried Hot Rod flatz and it was rubbish... Laughing

This is regular metallic paint with a slight matifying agent in the lacquer... Wink

This is sooo Off topic now, and it's mainly my fault.

Geoff, chuck some more pics this way (on the appropriate topic Laughing)

Wasn't this about stab bars ?

Hotrod flats crap? Ok. Good to know. I have been experimenting with matting agents but it's not easy.

I wanted a matt finish on my car but when you say "matt" at your paint supply store, they understand "satin".

I added a powder to my 2K DG colour, a little less hardener and much, much more thinner. Then a lot of pressure (3.0bars) and a distance of 40 cms to the surface. That did it. Just did it today. As I said, I'm a lame guy so I will be adding gold flake traditional lames this week with a white outline.

Only days to go before Sweden but it will be done.

There, I've gone way off topic too. Now let's have those pictures before we start off with more gibberish.

And, also Geoff, if you're listening, I would be interested in a set of 4 uprated springs for my Acadiane/Woodyane, if you can make/get them. I'm cornering on my doorhandles at the moment.
