Noooooooo...
I also like square lights on a 2CV, depends of the style of the car of course. |
I prefer round lights on the cars they should be fitted to.
Square lights look good on the 2cv's they should be on, i.e. 70's & early 80's. They go with the whole period & with the funky shades Citroen offered back then.
Kind of looks more aggressive to me too, gives the 2cv less of a friendly face! _________________ www.international2cvfriends.com |

It's certainly not my style, but this car looks good ... leave it! And in general I prefer rectangular headlights on a late 2cv. They go well with the grille and the horizintal lines of the windshield an ventilation flap. Would be great to see something like this racing the 24 hours in Francorchamps. |

In most cases. Obviously if you've got an Alfa lump hanging out the front, it's gonna look mean! _________________ www.international2cvfriends.com |

Maybe in mainland Europe, but in the UK almost every 2cv you see has round lights, (because most 2cvs here are post-83/84 specials/d*llies etc) so square ones look different, and like Neil I prefer them anyways, especially with the front spoiler, I think if I was to put round lights on the cars identity would be lost.
I like the idea of satin black, and im quite tempted to remove the GS trims and have the wheels powder coated in satin black, im not sure I want to paint a stripe as Im not sure how long Im going to keep the car and I think it might be easier to sell as standard (or with the option of putting back to standard)
Definately a 60s pressed aluminium grille, Ive wanted one for ages, although I think it might be better if i got a better bonnet first.
Ive thought about smoothing off some parts of the car, rear door handles are an idea, maybe also boot handle, side mirrors, side repeater lamps, chrome trim on the doors and then lowering it some more, in thew short term this might be tricky as the cars on the end of the thread on the tie rods as it is (it has about 6-8mm left in the knife-edge part!) but ill do it properly at some point.
I think (now ive got another 'family' car) i might remove the rear seats and install a roll cage, harnesses, plus a neat little stero in the boot floor and front doors.
Good ideas chaps, thanks, keep them coming though! _________________

Russ with all the ideas. I thought you where trying to sell it, (if you dont recognise me, im Jack who works at Marsh Citroen Repairs) then all of a sudden you where saying you distroyed the front bumper by murdering a cat and oil is leaking in from everywhere???
I personally would fix the leak before fitting a roll cage and all that.... _________________ Owner of the low, mean and slow dyane... |
