Just an idea!
That sexy Swiss cheese flywheel... is it balanced?
Maybe its vibration is stressing the case.
Just an idea Neutral

No, that light flywheel is on my other car (AZ6) an the guy who did that for me balanced it as well.
But flywheel could be a thing.. I ran it with a "normal" lightened flywheel from my local shop, which seems balanced, but I should probably ask to double check.

Anyway all back in a new crankcase, in 2 weeks I spend another weekend in NL and finished it.

I had a cracked crankcase on 652 engine. As you said, there was a mysterious oil leak although all the gaskets were new. Then I discovered that the right side of the crankcase was cracked in 4 different places. No idea why. I repacked all engine parts in another crankcase and ran the engine for many years - so I guess it wasn't because something would be out of balance.

Hi Sivipas, yup I suppose I am just unlucky like you. However 2cv crankcase is quite strong. The prototype race cars at Spa (some 60bhp@8000+rpm) use 2cv case with visa parts because the 2cv case is stronger. Anyway next weekend it will be all sorted and running again.
