now my little 425 is on the road, it's dangerously slow.
so I've sourced a 602 engine and box, has anyone done the swap?
my 425 is six volt and has the pedals in the floor! _________________ if it aint broke, fix it till it is |

well the response was pretty underwhelming
I'm assuming I'm not the first!
I've sourced the AM2 engine, and it's a bit furked, but there's no noticable play in the crank, so I'm now looking for a piston-barrel kit.
perfect circle seems to be the easiest to source, any comments/opinions?? _________________ if it aint broke, fix it till it is |

thanks rusty
yes I used his site to choose my engine (I had a choice of six), it is a very useful site.
advice I would like to discuss is things like clutch cable modification, brake line reduction, driveshaft compatability. _________________ if it aint broke, fix it till it is |

Bren, why not just buy a 2CV6 or Dyane6 and let an enthusiast buy yours?
Just wondering.. |

that was my intention.
and it would have been a hell of a lot easier.
but I honestly couldn't find a reasonable 2cv6
and I fell in love with the interior of the 425cc
which is why I've put so much effort into keeping the interior original. _________________ if it aint broke, fix it till it is |

I see, and i'm no better than you:D
I _could_ buy a faster, newer, safer car..But i prefer to upgrade the engine in the Mehari rather than buying another car..Goal is 130kmh and that is definetly within reach;-D
Thinking high compression plungers (running v06/665, so yes 9:1 is an option, might go higher), i have (what i believe to be) a 630 series engine in the shed with the beefier crankshaft and "force feeder", a 2 into 1 header is planned..I reckon app 40hp when rejetted and done.. |
