right, the facts: 1969 azu250, originally french, imported into GB in 1993.
Now, the van might end up going back to france, my question is, how much of a head ache is it going to be?
Since its been in the UK, its been re-chassied with a good SLC chassis, and its had a 602 dropped in, is this going to be a problem? i am aware that citroen chassis have some sort of kite mark, and that 2cv's wont go through the control technique without one, but does that also include imports, or is it just going to be easier to sell it over here?
Help appreciated! _________________ Bleu celeste 1990-2008 RIP

it sounds like a real headache to me,
the chassis does have to have a homologation certificate.
does it still have the vin plate riveted near the gearbox?
engine upgrades are an out and out no-no, they do happen, but on the quiet, not on cars for sale.
you'd probably get a better price in the UK anyway, cos the vans are so much rarer. _________________ if it aint broke, fix it till it is |

In France we don't need any chassis number for the control technic for cars older than 30 years old. And no one will care about another engine either at the technic control. _________________ www.super2cv.com |

The actual information you need is as follows
to register that car in France you need :
- Registration papers from the country it's been imported from
- A valid french MOT (Controle Technique)
- A "Quitus fiscal" delivered by your local tax office. This certifies you have paid any import tax required on the car. Due to the age of the van, it will be free.
- You then need to ask for a Certificate to register the car as a "vintage collectable" (véhicule de collection). You get this from the FFVE (vintage car federation). www.ffve.org. They ask for 2 photos of the car, a form to fill in, a copy of the MOT and registration papers, and a 50 or 60 euros cheque. If I haven't forgotten anything.
In return they will send you a certificate that will allow you to get the french registration papers done at the local registration office.
That is the cheapest/easiest way to get the last item you need for registration. You could get a EU homologation certificate via Citroen and have a regular, not vintage car registration, but it costs more and seeing that you car is not standard anyway Citroen won't oblige...
Any questions just let me know. _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.
