plan is to use an "unbrako" bolt, i have had a bung threaded into the top to access it.

Or shortened head stud...

I'm back!! not that i went anywhere it's just i have time get to mum's house and the car, 8hrs away...

Thinking of this to get me started...

* Convert to Suicide doors... It may look odd with a modern bonnet, Round headlights are inc. but i have a fiberglass bonnet which i will adapt a scoop/shaker-hood to...?
* Paint will be original bamboo colour, or close enough, I was thinking Satin/flat paint but now thinking of staying with gloss for more durability as i can get it done in a baked booth...

The only panels that need looking at are the rear doors, slight rust under the windows... and the rear light panel needs modifying... All the other panels are in primer ready to be painted Very Happy

I liked Lars' post about modifying the inner front fenders to allow for the rocker covers hitting, so i will do that...

I'm just after some ideas to get me motivated again Cool

Cheers
Harley

Suicide doors and modern bonnet existed together from factory, so no problems there Wink

Shocked Thanks JoZef i didn't realise that, but i still wonder if it is worth the extra effort or if i should just get the car on the road! Cool

This is where i am at with the panels!

I think the small lip I made from shortening the back-end looks good, i still have the rear tail light section to modify.

Removing the rear windows has turned out great.

I am still seriously considering the Suicide doors and think i have come up with the perfect solution which will be better than the originals...

One more idea: Shaving the gutters? they are of minimal use considering the shape of the roof and if a bit of time was taken to smooth out the indent shape above the front window i think it would look great! has anyone seen this done on a 2cv before?

Cheers

Harley

shaving the gutters will be a hell of a job but it could be good.

If you're going down such "custom" jobs as shaving, suicide doors etc, may I suggest not repainting in indoor tennis court green ?

This is the original colour I wanted to copy...

I guess this is what they call "Bamboo"? but i was thinking in Satin... Looking like the paint will be baked enamel, maybe a little more yellow and lighter...

The car has always been know as Kermit...

Cheers
