I know Johan van der Laan personally, I know for sure that porche pistons are used on his rally car, but many other things were changed as well (lower compressionrate for bad gasoline etc) I know he also took a visaengine there to have it tuned, but the last thing I've heard of it is that the engine seized while breaking in on the test stand (the 6 bolts of the flywheel snaped!!!!) and after that it took ages to get something done there!

I will call him today or next week, maybe he knows more about STP.

I read somewhere that they used to fit VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE 1500cc barrels and pistons, (two of them only) onto the 2cv engine. This would take the engine up to 750cc which is quite a useful power increase. This was on a car from SPAIN so i guess they had no problems with it overheating. Cool
Going to try that one myself i think. Speak to an engineering shop first to see what they say. Question
Tony. Cool

stud pattern and head recess and little end for starters .5mm = 8cc on the same stroke, me and pete worked some stuff out, it a mix of porsche and vw stuff highly altered, as bart says injection etc best way

Standard 2cv heads with original size valves.
If you look at the 1500cc VW piston it has a similar shape on the piston crown, to the 2cv piston Idea . The VW 1600cc pistons are flat tops so i dont think would be suitable Question .
If i can get hold of a pair of Barrels and pistons i will have a go at fitting them to my truck. I will also try and fit an adjustable main jet in the carb' to richen up the mixture a bit Idea .

you need flat top to lower compression due to increased bore size

Hello,

Quote:
I heard bad stories about mr Maurice as well, but they are only stories...

These are no stories, Mr Dumetier who takes care of Doutard ULM in france ordered a special camshaft, paid in advance, but never received it.
He even tought that the compagny desepeared, what is wrong.

Jozef, do you know if there is one guy, who can control my compression ratio and the rate of blow-by, next to St jean?

Because, i'll nead to have a good idea on the state of my 750 VISA, and i don't want to get off the cylinders, because in that case i'ld have to honne, but nickasil honning is rareful and expensive.

hey guys, I spoke to Johan earlyer, but he hasn't spoken mr Maurice for a while, he is verry satisfied with how the peking-eend engine is built up by stp. contacting STP is difficult somtimes...........

Pimslet

you need a compression tester ?

No idea where you can have the blow by rate tested...

But if you need compressions testing, it should be possible in most garages ?

bye

That's the problem, and more, i don't know the compression ratio of the engine, different pistons heads were delivered. I'll have to mesure it, i need some part that are used in chemical labs.

Or, the thing that your use to inject chemistery in the blood, but a very precise one.

Or do you know an easier method, without or with geeting off the cylinder heads.

I've seen a lot of posts on increasing the capacity of the standard 2CV engine or Visa.

Check this link :

I've spoken and met these guys, who live very close to me. These 2 guys have build some 40 engines (2CV conversion to mate Visa piston/barrel) for a lot of Touraeg Trail drivers. Up to now, all engines run very succesfully.

One way of improving your engine is the exact timing of crankshaft and camshaft. They've made a tooling which enables to make timing possible up to 1/4° !!! Another project of them is a unibloc machined crankshaft, which can be equipped with detachable conrods. These will now be tested in 2CV racing soon :

Continuously they're improving their developments, a few months ago a 710cc conversion to fit the 2CV engine has been tested and proven !
This conversion results in an engine with a significant torque increase.
Their purpose is not to build engines that will propel your 2CV up to 150 KMH, but stronger and more reliable engines ! Remember, because of the bad aerodynamics of a 2CV, one has to put an enourmeous amount of extra power into the engine to get some extra speed out of it.

These guys, although very modest about their experience and knowledge about the 2CV engine, are not making a business out of this, they're just into the fun of improving this existing technology and sharing this with whoever is interested in a better, reliable engine.
