|
|
Hey,
yesterday I wanted to drop my Ami8.
I notice that front was super high and there was only 1,5cm thread
inside of tie rod ends, so lowering with these ends was imbossible.
In finland its hard to find longer (Acadiane) ends so I was thinking
to extend the originals.
What you need:
-Angle grinder
-Good Mig welder
-Different size of tubes
I didnt have but also 11x1 threar fixing tap would be good to have.
First I cut tie rod ends and weld 2cm extension on them.
Next step was crinding them "smooth"
After that I adapt strong tube over the tie rod end and weld it well.
Then just some finnishing and it was ready:

Nice write-up - I was going to do this same job this morning but my Mig gas is empty and after driving 1 hour to the gas supplier I found that the guy didn't turn up for work this morning so they were closed
Next weekends job now. Thanks for the helpful pictures _________________ Andy T
